diabetic from Lithuania

Hi everybody... I am diabetic. My name is Ramutis and I am 25 years old male.I live in Lithuania. I have diabet for 11 years... using Lantus (32 about 9 pm) and Apidra (8+6+8). I want to find new friends in foreign countrys...:juggle:

Tell us more about yourself & how you manage your diabetes. I'm a 64-year-old non-insulin-dependent type 2, maintaining on metformin & a fairly low-carb diet (about 50g per day).

Difficult for me to be on a diet. Normally eat three times a day. Sometimes twice ... Diabetes has opened up new opportunities for me to look differently at life, and gave more fresh-minds... Of course, it would be better to be non-diabetic...

Hello there! Are you a Type 1 diabetic? Do you know your A1c? I have been Type 1 for 64 years and I am very healthy. If you keep good control you can have a long, healthy life.

Hi,
Yes, I am a type 1 diabetic... It is just unreal, how you managed to keep good control of diabetes for so long years. My A1C is not as good as I wanted to.. Last time it was 8... Its not good... I used a disetronic pump for last three years... But now I am using Lantus + Apidra... Pump was very unconfortable for me... also it is very expensive... I am thinking of buying a blood glucose monitoring system, like guardian real time or smth.... what is your opinion about that???

P.S. I am very respect you, for such a good diabet control for so many years...

A CGM is a good idea. The Guardian has had a lot of bad publicity. The more popular CGM's are the Navigator and the Dexcom. I am using the Dexcom. It is very good.
