I had dizziness starting in Nov, 2008. There were days I thought I was going to pass out it was so bad. I was given many tests to determine the cause. There were many things considered such as blockage in arteries, nerve damage in my brain and elsewhere, neuropathy, narrowing of heart arteries, and many more tests. No solution was found. A friend on another diabetes site in April of this year suggested I see an ENT. She thought I might have a problem in my inner ear. There is a chamber in the inner ear that has to do with equilibrium and balance. In early May I asked my doctor for a test for my inner ear and a cat scan was prescribed. There was a mild infection found and I started taking Meclizine, a med very similar to Dramamine. A month later my dizziness had disappeared. This all seems comical to me now. Why didn't they start with the inner ear since that is the body part for equilibrium? At least I know all the other tests turned out great and that is good to know. Lol!
They probably did all the other testing Richard because you are a Diabetic and you've had it a lonnnnnnng time. That totally knocks them off every other reason. You're supposed to be dead.....Dammit!!! ROFL!! You know I'm Kidding Ya Richard!
I'm Glad that your Friend suggested the ENT Specialist. Certainly that plays a major part in balance and dizziness. Especially if there is an infection or nerve damage, etc. Good to hear that you are doing Good otherwise Young Man.

Keep up the Good Work!!
Even though my blood pressure is normally 98/60-21/70. My GP put me on BP meds. just in case(against my Endo's advice). Well, not long after, I was getting dangerously Bad dizzy spells. I was also nauseous(sp) All the time. I had to force myself to eat one small snack in the evening. I was 126 lbs. and I dropped down to 109 lbs. Nothing else in my Life had changed.
Well, my Hubby was worried. So I dropped the BP meds. and I'm back up to 120lbs. I'm one of those
weird ones that they don't count, with the
strange side-effects from prescription drugs. We are in the minority so we are invisible to drug companies AND Doctors. Nice to be invisible.

I'm Glad that I gained most of my weight back and NO more dizzy (almost faints)spells.
