Just read this article in Sunday's Parade magazine titled: "The Incredible Shrinking Drew Carry" in which his Doctor said, ie: Drew Carey's Type-2 Diabetes is No More..!!

"After 10 weeks Drew's Type-2 diabetes had reversed.. and he no longer needed to take his medication."

[Rant On]

About the time I heard something like that I'd find me a different Doctor. And my second thought is this. Is the author of this article really that stupid to think all one has to do is "snap their finger".. and 10 weeks later diabetes will just disappear, or don't they research the article they're writing about?

Doesn't someone in the limelight (such as Drew), realize there are people out in the real world who's going to take things like this as gospel and go along with what's being said/written instead of getting the medical help that they really need?

[Rant Off]

These celebrity docs prob'ly aren't too keen on telling their wealthy patients the bad news - that it's control, not cure. He's reduced his insulin resistance and no longer needs his meds, but he is by no means cured.

I think he threw the baby out with the bath water . . . if the dumb cluck only knew it, he could still be enjoying his steak/egg/sausage/cheese for breakfast. Just ditch the pancakes/muffins/toast. Ah well . . . they're more interested in headlines than truth.

These writer's need to understand a disease before they start making statements that just are not true. You just don't cure diabetes. What a dumb article.

Hey look what happened to Anna Nicole Smith and Michael Jackson for putting their trust in their celebrity doctors. They are both dead. I do believe that both of the celebs were drug addicts though.

Loved one comment over there asking how can people stay fit withouth eating **** as it was said.

I'd say that if you eat **** to start, then you will have to eat **** to get out of it. There's nothing I exempt (I think it's the synonim of exclude... just trying to look smart :D ) from my meals if I want it. I eat stakes, eggs (sometimes I have 4-5 fried eggs for dinner, not just the whites but all of it). Every mid-day meal which is the largest for me I have potatoes and they are actually rarely mashed and most often fried.

So yah.. There's a lot of fat in my meal. Somehow all my test results for my heart, bloodwork etc come back normal, I weigh slightly less than what I would want to (right now I am at ~68kg and I am 182cm tall so I'd reckon I could use an extra 4kg which is about 8 pounds just to be on the safe side, though my BMI right now is at about 20.5).

Back on topic: I think Drew's diet might just be going overboard...
