Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum and to the diabetes world. My Dad was just recently diaginosed with type 2. He lives by himself and is use to throwing in a TV dinner or ordering out for the most part as he is older and doesn't cook anything except breakfast. I am trying to help him change his diet but it has been hard to find easy prep meals that are diabetic friendly and taste good. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks!
Jen

I think some of the South Beach frozen meals might be okay. I don't really know, I've never looked into it. Maybe you could help him cook on the weekend so he can have leftovers to heat up during the week. Chicken breasts, frozen veggies he could steam in the microwave, canned tuna, whole wheat bread, some lean turkey lunch meat, fresh fruits, etc. You'll have to research the frozen meals by reading the labels and comparing them. It's nice to hear you are helping your dad, though. Good luck.
