that button does not exist for me. perhaps because I haven't posted enough messages yet.

Moved this to the help desk.

The community had a 15 minute limit for editing post, giving our members time to correct typos. After that time has passed, the edit option disappears. If you need help fixing a thread following the time limit expiring, you can report the post to request assistance.

Ah, I learned something here. Actually two things: 1) this and 2) apparently I never modify my posts after 15 minutes....
