I lost it completely with this tonight - pigged out! Clocked 129 at 1-hour PP and 128 at 2-hours PP. Shouldn't have eaten so much, but God bless Dreamfields, or I'd be circling the moon by now.

Fat Dog Casserole

from The Great Little Hot Dog Cookbook, 1973, by John A. Gould

1 tbsp. butter or margarine
1/2 onion, chopped
1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
1 8-oz. can tomato sauce
1/2 tsp. garlic powder (or fresh garlic in w/onion & peppers)
1 3-oz. pkg. cream cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
8 hot dogs, cut in half-inch slices or smaller
2 cups cooked noodles (6 oz of dry Dreamfields, cooked/drained*)
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese

*deduct a full two minutes from the designated cooking time of the Dreamfields, drain immediately.

Sauté onion & green pepper in butter; add tomato sauce & garlic powder. Blend together cream cheese & sour cream until smooth & stir into sauce; add sliced hot dogs.

Place drained noodles in bottom of casserole dish; spoon hot dog mixture on top & sprinkle with grated cheddar cheese. Heat at 350° for about 20-30 minutes, or until mixture is bubbly & cheese is melted.

(What I usually do is heat the sauce to serving temperature, and just stir the whole thing together in the skillet, top with grated cheese & run under the broiler for about 3 minutes until cheese melts.)
