Hi Guys,

Here's my story -

2 months back I started to play football once a week after work for 4 consecutive weeks.

From the 5th weeks I played twice a week with 3 days break in between.
Upon the twice a week.of football I would wake up after the 2nd night of football and get severe leg/knee pain. I originally thought it must be strain due to fitness but the pain was quite intense. Anyhow from playing 2 weeks football after and since then I would feel very tiered during the day, which was strange. This continued for the past 2 weeks.

I stopped football 2 weeks ago and the knee pain has stopped at nights now but my thighs sometimes feel stiff (only at nights) and I still have fatigue.

Recently I went for a opticians appt and from a scan on one of my eye found a minor blocked nerve which they advised could be related to diabetes.

I have given my gp referral letter in so they can call me in for a blood/sugar test.

Since 3 days ago again been feeling tiered, a slight pins and needles sensation in my arms n feet depending on posture of sitting, paid on the left abdomen area and feeling tiered.

Does all signs point to Diabetes as generally I am a healthy person the only issue with me is I eat breakfast around lunchtime?

Hi Chris101 and welcome to Diabetes Forum! Come on in and make yourself comfortable :couch2: There is a wealth if information on here, if you don't see what you are looking for, do a search.

I really think that your doctor should make a diabetes diagnosis. Do you have a meter? What besides the fatigue and leg pain do you have that would point to diabetes? You should talk to your doctor let him run some blood tests and see what is said. I hope you find out soon so that you will visit often and take care.

Hello Chris, and welcome to DF. The symptoms you describe could be many things and the sooner you get in to have the blood tests, the better. Until you get a diagnosis and a meter, you could back off on the strenuous exercise; what time you eat breakfast is prob'ly of less importance that WHAT you eat.

If the abdominal pain persists and/or you develop nausea/vomiting/fever, you would, of course, seek immediate medical assistance. I don't see this as being symptomatic of diabetes.

Keep us posted . . . and keep bugging the doc's office to get you those blood tests.

i used to play football and it sounds to me like you took an elbow in your side and it went from bad to worse. your case is for a doctor or a sports doctor, not for amateur Sea Lawyers on the internet.

you may have ruptured something and need to see a good doctor pronto!

football players are not limited to only one injury at a time.
