No not food, Me. It is starting to wear on me. I don't know if this is Diabetes related or me just losing weight. I am always just freezing and shivering. Even last summer when it was 80 degrees F out I had to have a light jacket or long sleeve shirt on. I know it is cold outside but here in my office today I have two shirts and a sweeter on with an electric heater running. The temp in my office is 74 and I sit here shivering.

I am not a doctor, but when I feel very intolerant of the cold it usually ends up that my thyroid medication needs adjusting. Perhaps you could ask your Doctor to check your thyroid. It involves a blood test so not really invasive.

I have noticed my circulation is not as good as it used to be. I do seem to be cold a lot but then we keep our thermostat on 60 most of the day except a few hours at 65. So I am always bundled up. When I walk outside it seems I need 2 pairs of socks to keep feet warm. In the summer I have the opposite problem , I am too hot and can't tolerte temps over 80.
My Thyroid Test TSH done 1st week in January of 2011 was 1.0 A year earlier was 1.1. I think you are supposed to be between .3 and 5.0?

My Endocrinologist told me that TSH results are quite personal. One person might be very comfortable at 1.5 and another person would be equally comfortable at 2.5. It wouldn't hurt to speak to your Doctor about the cold feeling all the time. We also keep the heat in our house around 60-65 except when we get company. I have to admit the most comfortable is around 70. But then our electricity bill goes much higher too.
Which is basically why the test was done. I just had my physical this last month. I may have to tell my Doctor nothing has changed and needs further research. She did tell me it was common to weight loss when I was in but I have not lost anything in the last month to speak of.

Lab ranges vary from lab to lab. Your reading of 1.0 and 1.1 is on the lower end of normal. All you can do is dress so that you don't feel chilled all of the time.
You'll see several of us complaining of the cold too, Murph, especially Eric since he lost weight - he wears a jacket all the time, including on his vacation to Florida!
Even the small amount of weight I've lost seems to make a difference - I have a dickens of a time keeping my feet warm. My TSH was 1.43 last fall, and I'm on 150mcg of levothyroxine.
The other thing I gotta say is, central heating is not the most effective way to keep people warm! I always FREEZE when we're out somewhere away from our radiant heat.
Even the small amount of weight I've lost seems to make a difference - I have a dickens of a time keeping my feet warm. My TSH was 1.43 last fall, and I'm on 150mcg of levothyroxine.
The other thing I gotta say is, central heating is not the most effective way to keep people warm! I always FREEZE when we're out somewhere away from our radiant heat.

All of us are so different. My TSH was 1.5 and I take 88 mcg. Tried the 100 mcg and it was just too much. I, for one, will be happy to see Summer come along.
I own a heating and air conditioning business. My whole house has the infloor radiant heat including my garage and sidewalk out front of the house. Now don't get on me for the side walk heat. I only use it about twice a year when we have ice storms to get the ice off of it.The other thing I gotta say is, central heating is not the most effective way to keep people warm! Now that's a glowing testimony for radiant heat if I ever heard one . . . when the contractor's own home has it!
