you should be getting your eyes checked by an optometrist or ophthalmologist annually (mine moved me from bi-annual to annual checkups). they can check for these things. Early detection of glaucoma can often be treated successfully with medication before damage occurs. implants to replace lenses opacified by cataracts are much better than they were

Welcome to DF. Are you controlling your diabetes well, so the risk of these kinds of complications is as low as possible? How long have you been diabetic?

Thanks for the update, Violet . . . I hope you'll be able to visit often - looking forward to getting better acquainted. And if you got pix of the furbabies, be sure to post 'em! heheh! There's a bunch of us pretty goofy over ours.
