Hi Eddie:
Is it too soon to ask about how you are doing on
the Glipizide ER? Post back when you find stable
results please, especially on your FBG's which are
a pain for most Type 2's. I hope that it works for
you.
Hi Eddie:There are interesting claims on rxlist about this one.
1 pill in the morning(2.5 mg,5 mg,10mg) does the trick.
Supposedly this one does not leave large levels of insulin
floating around in your body like other sulfonylureas do-
it's release mechanism is activated by food like Januvia.
It costs much less than Januvia and, according to some
studies, controls FBG and A1C better than Januvia.
I'm going to give it a try.I'll post results.

TerrieHi Eddie:Sorry, I was gone for a bit.
Gee, that must have been frustrating. Did your Dr. say why he
prefers you to be on Glyburide? Are you going to be on more
than 1 drug for the treatment of Diabetes? Most are. I imagine
you and your Dr. already went over the side-effects, drug reactions,
etc. of Glipizide.
Six weeks? That's a pain.I hope once you get on it, that it
will be a shorter time for delivery to you.
I also hope that it works better for you. Thanks for the update and yes,
keep us posted.

Hey Eddie:Terrie
Avandia cardio problems are very small percentage with users though greater than with other diabetes meds.My opinion about the Avandia thing:
A lot of people will shy away from Avandia because of the
cost.In most cases, I would think that only people with severe diabetes would be willing to cough up the bucks for
Avandia which would mean that cardio statistics on Avandia are for people with severe diabetes. It would seem to be a natural conclusion that Avandia cardio stats would be considerably worse than the less expensive diabetes meds.Even though a small study showed otherwise,I suspect that Actos has the same problems as Avandia:fluid buildup on the heart. All of this stuff is my limited perspective and may be incorrect.
Bye for now
Eddie
