Dan, that is amazing! You are very dedicated to good control of your diabetes. Why do so many diabetics ignore their control and develop complications? I will never understand that.
This is the important part. Your young, and can do it. When you get older, like me, and my father-in-law (he died at 74, and out of control, I'm 62 (and in control, except my weight), mainly because he wouldn't control his diabetes, the same goes with his two sisters, they wouldn't control their diabetes either. Yet he has two brothers, and one other sister who never got diabetes. his one sister died of natural cause in her 80's, and both of his brothers are in their 90's, and still going strong), it's much harder to control it.now to keep doing it in the long run.
It`s very good to you. I had the same situation many years ago. But I ruin all and now I`m on the insulim, my weight is stiil growing.Went to see my doctor yesterday and he took me off my meds! In 8 months I've gone from 200lbs to 155lbs, totally re-vamped my diet, went from 1000mg of metformin a day to 500mg to nothing.
