FRESH GREEN BEANS

4 slices bacon, cut up
2 lb. green beans, cleaned & snapped
1 cup water
salt

Fry the bacon, add the beans and water. Cover, bring to boil, reduce heat & simmer 25 min or until done to your liking. Turn up the heat, cook and gently stir occasionally until the water is evaporated. Let the beans fry a little in the bacon fat before removing from skillet. Salt to taste.

GREEN BEANS AND KIELBASA SAUSAGE

sausage
2 cans french style green beans, drained

Fry kielbasa, remove. Add beans and stir-fry until hot.

DOCTORED CANNED GREEN BEANS

2 slices bacon, diced
2 cans cut green beans, drained

Brown the bacon, stir in the green beans, cook over medium-high heat until beans are soft and limp and start to carmelize. Salt to taste.

There is absolutely/positively nothing in the world better than a big kettle of these fresh beans & bacon. And now that I've been reminded, I could die here waiting for this year's beans to be ready to pick! :D Thank heaven we plant pole beans so they keep setting on as long as we keep pickin'!
