I know it's a long way from perfect but I got my results today for my A1c test and it was 6.3. A far cry from 10.7 4months ago. The doctor was happy but I'm a stubborn git and I want it much lower.

I had so many infections in the first part of this year I had to increase my lantus to 60mmls and it was still not bringing the numbers down on a 30 carb a day diet. I'm cautious about using that much lantus as it stacks on weight with me so today I have ordered Levemir and hopefully that will stop the weight gain so I can exercise...my hips knees and feet are too sore at the moment.

Fingers crossed...

Good for you! :D

But be aware that many doctors believe that increasing medications to obtain an A1c lower than 6.5% does more damage than good.

thank you CJ and TG

Oh it was my idea to change to Levemir...we're going to trial it for 3months and see if it's better.

The doctor also said I was able to get into some government scheme that allowed me 5 free specialists appointment....so I'm seeing a podiatrist and a nutritionist (?).... Ive never had my feet checked before so this is great..
