I've been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 6 weeks ago. What a shock that was to me. Don't know why it was such a shock though - I have 3 brothers and my late Dad who are diabetics. So a strong family history here. Been feeling very tired and eyesight very blurred. Glucoe toxicity is what my physician calls it. Blood sugar was 27 mmol/dl. On Humulin insulin 30/70 and doing much better.

Ever wondered if there is a way to reverse diabetes? I am seriously researching this.

very difficult to get consistent BG numbers with 70/30 insulin.

Much easier to control BG with a basal background insulin such as Lantus and bolus a fast acting insulin to cover food such as Humalog insulins.

Its the carbs not just the sugar that you have to watch out for.

Hello, avataar. You'll find lots of claims that diabetes can be cured, but controlled is a better word. Reversed is a little ambiguous, since it may connote eventually being safe to revert back to your old eating & lifestyle habits. Such a reversal is not possible. Insulin, oral meds, diet & exercise can help us get our blood glucose levels under control and keep them stable at low levels.

Do keep searching for truth, but when you find the things that sound too good to be true, that's prob'ly exactly the case.

I hope you'll keep posting - there is a wealth of experience, knowledge, wisdom and inspiration here. Thank you for joining us.

welcome to the boards!

As has been mentioned, "D" is not reversible. The damage that's been done to our bodies cannot be "undone"
