I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about one and a half years ago. After getting tired of getting sick all the time I became serious about my diet and fitness. I was taking 850mg metformin twice a day. My last microlalb/creat ratio was 5.6 and my doctor lowered my dose to 500mg. I have caught the excerise and running bug and know I will have to better my nutrition knowledge.

Hello Edgar, welcome aboard! It sounds like you are on the right track. Keep doing what has been helping you. Some type 2 diabetics improve so much that they can stop their medication and control their diabetes with exercise and diet alone. Good luck to you!

Welcome aboard, Edgar. Sometimes our fingers get ahead of our thoughts & some interesting words emerge! Good thing the grammar police don't live here, eh?! :D

There's a lot to learn in managing this insidious disorder, but it really helps when we all band together like on this forum and share the tips & tricks we've learned in our battles! I hope to see you often and get better acquainted.

take care,
