Hello
I am grateful to be a part of this community and hope that you will accept me. You see, I am not diabetic, but my life has certainly been touched by it personally and professionally. I am a 39 year old Wellness Consultant specializing in body fat reduction, weight management and fitness. Over the years I have worked with thousands of diabetics successfully helping them to manage their diabetes through a very important dynamic.......fitness and nutrition. Additionally, I have watched my dad battle with diabetes and have successfully helped in prescribing him the appropriate regime of nutriton and fitness to lose over 40 pounds of fat. Although the battle continues, my father, like many others can manage his diabetes through diet and exercise......but it was required that he lose excess body fat and learn how to exercise in a manner that would create a strong metabolism and support balanced blood sugar. For many, finding this balance is an endless battle. You see, there is a science behind much of this and in being in the business for such a long time, I find there to be a gap and many misconceptions. My desire in being a part of this community is that I feel I can help provide an awareness and an education when it comes to diet, exercise and the importance of body fat reduction (not just weight loss) for many diabetics. I feel compelled as a body fat reduction specialist to educate as many diabetics as I possibly can regarding this important dynamic to managing this condition. I hope you take the time to read some of the information that I will be providing on this forum. I have lots of wonderful resources that I will be sharing with you and information that you can either choose to digest or simply leave it alone. I am not here to sell you anything or promote my business. I am here to help. I have simply watched too many people slide in the wrong direction and will do whatever I can to help bring a greater understanding and provide as much information and means of support as I possibly can. If interested, I will be posting a wonderful educational article "Weight loss vs. Fat loss" in the diet and exercise forum. Please read as I have found many diabetics are not really aware that there is a difference and it helps provide a greater awareness of the importance of losing fat vs. just losing weight for a diabetic.
Thanks
Lesa
