I just joined the forum... I spent the evening yesterday reading Blood Sugar 101 and this afternoon reading threads in the forum. I think there is a good possibility I have been trying to kill myself...:D I'm doing everything wrong. I have been on a high carb, low fat diet for 3 months now... I'm taking the wrong drugs,my blood sugar is very high and I have been eating Sugar Free Candy for years thinking it was good for diabetics... Man Please...!!!

My name is Bugg I'm 64 years old and I have had type 2 diabetes for 15 years. For the past year my A1C has been between 7.0 and 7.9. I've been struggling to get it down by increasing medication and diet. I have had some success in weight loss 20lbs. My last visit to the Dr., three months ago, my A1C was 6.8. However my testing has really been bad for the past 30 days...

I decided to seek help on the internet and found this site. I've already made some diet changes and looking forward to some new advise and better numbers...:)

Well Bugg, I'm glad to meet you! You have surely figured it out on your own, but we'd still like to get acquainted and give you all the support we can in turning over your new leaf! :D There are many here who've had to do exactly that when we realized the things we'd been taught didn't work so well!

Take care and visit us often! You already can see we're nothing if not chatty! heheh!
