Hello everyone,

I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in June last year. At 48yo this was some what of a shock. As a healthy person and my work is as a healer, this blew me away. Apparently I had the highest blood sugar reading that the hospitals had every heard of and should have been dead or at the very least in a coma. Each day in hospital I would have nurses and doctors dropping in and telling me that they can't believe that I am alive. I live in Western Australia and had travelled 2,500 km to the east coast of Australia to visit our son... so this was a bit of a challenge not being around my familiar surroundings.

The doctors have been amazed that I have reduced the insulin injections down to only 2mgs most injections and sometimes don't need tham at all. I have been able to do this using my healing technique... reiki, mediation, clearing, combined with exercise (not fanatically) and healthy eating. The eating is almost 100% raw foods, following the RawFamily foods methods (ie eating like a chimp).

Just got back from 5 weeks in Italy. Had to take a blender with me to make my smoothies but it was not always easy to find fresh organic/bio dynamic produce in the tourist areas, so had to eat some cooked foods. Amazed a friend of ours who travelled with us who is a doctor. She monitored my bloods with keen interests after each meal. I still could get some healthy green smoothies into me so the benefits of this diet were still evident.

Blessings All

Hello Steve: :)

Welcome to our community. How high was your blood sugar number, out of curiosity? I was in a Coma once for 3 days, when I was 19. I forgot to take my shot before I went to work. Some others that I've talked to have been in a Coma also. It's interesting to see the wide-range of blood glucose numbers. Of course, the higher the blood glucose number, the longer in the Coma, then usually the more damage done.

I've heard of the Raw Food Diet and exercise working for some dedicated Type 2's. These were not smoothies. Not one Type 1 was mentioned since it would be dangerous for them. You're probably still in the "honeymoon phase" where your body is still secreting some Insulin. Blessings back to you.

Hello Back

Hi Terrie,

Thank you for the welcome and your comments.

I know different countries have different measurements for blood sugars so these that I am about to give you are what we use in Australia (if your not Aussie). Admitted at blood sugar reading of 63. Normal is 5 and commas start at 20's. So I had 12 times the norm. Apparently I was within half an hour of total organ shutdown.

Understand you comments re raw foods. Suggest that you go to website by , Sergei and Valya Boutenko so as I don't reinvent the wheel so to speak. Basically though you will find that Victorias son Serg (Type 1) lives on these smoothies and raw foods and completes in marathons etc. Her research (25 plus year) into hydrocaloric acid is now being taken up by the medical faternity. Also main problem with most raw fooder in the past was that they did not rotate their uptake of leafy greens. Very important otherwise you have toxic issues.

The Docotors and Endocrinologists that have been involved with me on this healing journey are all at different points on this, however, they now agree that I have had type 1 diabetes for quite some time now based on a reveiw of my histroic symptoms. Some have even guestimated as much 10years. They just simply don't know how I have stayed alive and slipped through the net all this time. I cantell you that I haven't been to a doctor for more than 20years before this incident and that the only time that I have personally been in hospital was for viral Meningitis when I was 8 and a broken arm when I was 10.

As for the honey moon period. This was something that they talked about in the begining, but they believe that that has expired years ago.

Also, I was at golf last week with a friend who is an Anaethatist and he asked me about Hypos and Hypers. I said that I can feel I hypo comming on when I was injecting too much. He said that to make sure that you lie down if you feel one comming on as many type 1 diabetics who go into comas whilst sitting end up with permanent brian damage.

Light, Love, Peace & eternal Laughter

Steve
