Hello, and welcome! I have been type 1 for 65 years, but didn't start pumping until 4 years ago. Pumping has given me the best control I have ever had. To get good results from a pump you need to put a lot of time into it and learn a lot! The book "Pumping Insulin" by John Walsh is a wise purchase for anyone intending to pump. You need to be highly motivated and take the time to be trained, and then to learn all the many steps needed so you can program the pump appropriately.
