Just popped in to the DF to see if anyone is having the same issues with Bryer's "Carb Smart" ice cream, raising their blood sugar significantly higher, when they've done nothing significantly different in their life/eating routine.

But, apart from that, I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes a few years ago, manageable with Metformin and a change in my eating habits (CARBS ARE EVIL!!! THE LESS, THE BETTER!!! 😁) At 53, I guess things just start going downhill... diabetes, back issues, leg cramps... gah! I dread to think what being in my 60's, 70's, and 80's will be like... "Jesus come quickly! I don't want to know what it feels like to be OLD!!!" 😆

An official welcome, then, Luposian!

Yeah, getting older is not for the weak. There is a lot of evidence, though (quality medical studies) that keeping the carbs at bay can lessen some of the damage time and genetics inflict on all of us. I'm about ten years ahead of you and looking at 80-90 year old parents and in-laws and thinking I'll do what I can to ward off some of what they're going through.

Please take a look around here and read what strikes you as valuable. And please go ahead and add your experiences and comments to our current discussions. The bigger the community, the better for all of us.
