My son has developed muscle atrophy as a result of his canulas his muscles have just wasted away.

I'm so sorry was it caused from the diabetes?

Hi yes the novo rapid insulin caused his muscles to waste in the canula sites. So he has changed to humalog insulin and as he is gaining a little weight now we are using his stomach for canula sites. His consultant doesn't believe the muscle will regenerate itself. But other than that he is doing great and good control when he's well. Thanks

My son is on humolog and it's working good. But it did not take long for him to get pouches on his stomach. It's been 3 yrs and they still havent gone away....
