So I have been inching my way up for a while, from fasting BS at 99 to 115, last week.
I really don't eat that poorly and I do try to eat low carb. I think all the coconut water, I have been so addicted to over the last few months kicked me over the edge. And some cheating.
Also I have a very bad back (herniated discs), sciatica down both legs,
so its very difficult for me to get the exercise I need.

But I realize now, something must change, I can't change the bad back. But I can buckle down, and stop all cheating on my food intake.

Thanks for listening!
BTW - I am a female just entering menopause, in my early fifties.

Sounds like you caught this pretty early which is a good thing. Many of use before diagnosis were pretty healthy and not overweight. I used to spend 2-3 hours a day in the gym for 5 years before I was dx'd. I was also a vegetarian. So, boy was I surprised. But what I have found is it is not just sugar but all carbs that cause me problems. So I have to watch my intake of things like brown rice, whole grain cereals and whole grain bread. I found the only bread that will allow me to stay under 100 is Eziekel sprouted bread. I can usually manage about 15 carbs at one sitting. Much more than that and I spike way too high, for way too long. Do they make the coconut water without the added sugar? For the past few months I've added coconut oil to my diet at every meal and find it works great at regulating my bgs.
Ok, I'm going to buy some Eziekel bread tomorrow, thx!
But no brown rice, that makes me sad:(
