I have been struggling with high morning blood sugars for awhile now...often 260-290 fasting. I started yesterday splitting my dose of Lantus to half in the morning and half at night. Woke up this morning at 167. Still high...but hey...I was thrilled. I saw my endo this morning and he agreed that was working for me....he increased all my insulin dosages and told me he was encouraged that at least the number were coming down. I have to go later today for a pump evaluation so I am crossing my fingers that my insurance doesnt give me grief and cause a delay to getting a pump!

Be well,
Pam

Wonderful drop on fbg! Keep on keepin' on. Good news on your endo visit too. Crossing fingers over here too, for your pump!

I've used all kinds of things to combat the dawn phenomenon thing . . . apple cider vinegar, flaxseed, etc. taken before bedtime. I'm just getting to the age where the fewer things I have to keep track of, the better I can keep track!
So for now I'm letting the chips fall where they may. Usually I'm a little higher waking than when I went to bed, like today - 93 to 105 - but I'm trying to take it in stride because if I let myself fret, that raises my bg too! Dang it all anyhow!

Oh I know...I try so hard to keep stress at bay...which stresses me out more most of the time :) We are submitting my request for a pump through my insurance now. The person at the medical supply place didnt think it would be a problem. The cost is a big ouch though...even with insurance. Thank goodness I had a psychic (psycho) moment and put a large amount of money into my flexible spending account this year!
