I dont know if insulin and protean make fat. But I do know that going on insulin WILL put weight on.

Cells need insulin to absorb blood sugars (both muscle and fat cells), so if you are insulin resistant your cells cant take in the sugar and people loose weight. Once on insulin weight is put on as the cells can get the sugar into them.
