My wife’s A1C went from 13.0 to 7.3 after just 48 days since T1 diagnosis and the beginning of insulin treatment. How common is that sort of improvement?
I do not know the answer to that, but by lowering my carb intake I went from 12.5 to 6.something the first 3 months, to 5.7 the next 3 ... metformin ,but no insulin!
You cannot fix something unless you know it is broken ...
Thats real improvement and which means ;she is responding to the medicine. There is no hard and fast rule about the treatment here. One has to take medication as prescribed, wait and observe , check yourself on the meter and be in touch with the doc always. commonsense prevails like always. Cut your carbs and portions too for better results..gudluck!
