The line "how to gain weight" might wonder a few people, especially in this forum. But I'm already slim (this morning 109lbs--(49Kg)), 5'4 (164cm) and I have to watch my diet to keep sugar levels from rising. However, I noticed I keep losing more weight the "healthier" I eat. I need the carbs and fat to keep me at 115lbs (52kg) but I noticed my BGL goes up too from that. I tried eating healthy diets that will help me gain weight but it doesnt work. :( What's going on and what can I do? :(

PS: Everyone in my family is skinny and has a hard time gaining weight, no matter how much or what we eat. So it may be genetic too.

The only way to gain weight without raising blood sugar is to eat protein and you must eat more calories than you expend. I know this from years of losing and gaining weight. There is a genetic component to it but genetics doesn't have too mean destiny . Alcoholism runs in my family, buti sobered up in AA and haven't had a drink in over 23 years, i beat my genetics so far and i believe it applys with alot of genetic conditions. Good luck. Mikey

Sadly i have been trying to gain weight as well.

I find that eating a few extra pounds of natural cheese a week helps put on weight
