I had a pretty good day. I processed a lot of medical claims and took a nap. I didn't get any bills in the mail-so it was a great day! :)

Today was an OK day. I had an appointment with my psychiatrist, I really don't care that much for him, but psychiatrists are hard to come by in Columbus. There must be a lot of crazy people here! :D

I did get to go to Arby's for dinner and it sure was good! I am kind of tired tonight, lugging that oxygen tank around really makes me tired. Can't wait to get rid of it!

Everyone have a good night! ;)

Today was an OK day, I didn't do very much. I was a little more short of breath today than usual until I noticed a large kink in my tubbing that is connected to my oxygen concentrator, the medical services company came right out and changed the tubbing and also brought out a humidifier bottle which should help with my dry nose from the oxygen. I go on Tuesday for another chest x-ray, a blood gas test and an oximetry test, I hope for some good news!

Today was a really good day. I had more energy today than I have had in weeks. Took a really long nap. Blood glucose levels were decent all day.

Today was another good day! Getting stronger every day! Blood sugar was decent all day. I am hoping for some nice clear chest x-rays and good blood gas results tomorrow. :) I feel so much better now that I have a bubble humdifier bottle on my oxygen concentrator.

I had a pretty good day. I went for my chest x-ray & blood gas test but my appointment was late so I will have to wait until tomorrow to get my results. I did get my pulse ox and on room air it is 85%, this is better than last week. I still need to improve in this area before I can get off of oxygen. I will need to have an overnight study done because my pulse ox is the lowest while I sleep.

My doctor's office called today and said my chext x-ray is improving but my blood gas is still not where it needs to be. My PCP wants me to see the pulmonary doctor that I seen while I was in the hospital. I hope to be able to get in soon.

Doc's office called with bone density results and they were normal . . . he just sez start calcium & vitamin D supplements, and I would have asked him about that if he hadn't volunteered. Not so sure I'll do the calcium since I have history of kidney stones, but I'll definitely be starting vitamin D since I no longer use milk & I don't get out in the sun much either!
That is good news Shanny! You seem to be so healthy! I am jealous!:p

Is this furball an old dog or a young dog? ;) Our poor pooch got abandoned today, in a manner of speaking. The mister had been cutting & carrying firewood all morning & when he finally came in tuckered out, we got him rehydrated & somewhat rested & then made a fast dash into town for groceries.

So getting back home, I pull the car into the garage & pop the trunk, we get out & start carrying groceries into the house & then Mister goes back for more woodcutting. He comes in a couple hours later & we fix supper, we eat supper & he takes off for the sofa & a well-earned nap. It isn't until two more hours that I finally wake up & think "where's Fritz?" I ask Mister about it & he begins to worry - then I start retracing our steps & have to ask "did either of us let him outta the car when we came home from town?" Nope - we just popped the trunk & away we went. Is this the most forgiving 80 lbs. of furball that ever lived? Yep - he was just still lying quietly in the back seat, waiting for someone to come open the car door. If we'd left the cat stranded for 4½ hours, he wouldn't speak to us for a week. But Fritz is now quietly sleeping at our feet in the living room . . . just like nothing ever happened. Geez . . .
Shanny-this was so funny! I had not laughed in a couple of days and you always make me smile!

My day was OK, I could describe it as blah, too. Didn't do much of anything. Had a long nap, got some bills in the mail :)() Just watched Project Runway on Lifetime and that is one strange show, I wonder where they find the people for that show?

Today was a good day, too bad my blood glucose readings were higher than my liking. Nothing else to add. Enjoy the rest of your evening! :)

Today I was so :bored:. I ate a late breakfast and read my August issue of Diabetes Forecast, I always find this magazine very interesting. I played around on my computer and took a nap. Gosh, I love to take a nap! College football season is right around the corner and I can't wait to see the Ohio State Buckeyes back in action, so my Saturday afternoon naps will become history during the season.

I watched a really good movie tonight, "I am Sam". I had never seen it before. Sean Penn played a really good part!

Well, it is almost bedtime, so I wish everyone a good night! Sweet dreams!

Today was a boring day. Worked on my lessons and watched some TV. I didn't know that it was Michael Jackson's 52nd birthday. I watched a couple of special shows about him. It is a shame that his life was cut short. I truly think he wanted to sleep so bad that he encouraged his doctor to give him the drug that killed him. How sad that is.

I hate going to sleep, my nasal cannula keeps slipping around and everytime it does I wake up.

Didn't get out of bed until 10AM, I had a good fasting number, maybe I should sleep in late everyday! :D

I am trying to increase my AM dose of Gabapentin and I was so sleepy at 11:30AM, I went back to bed until 2PM. Woke up and ate brunch and worked on my studies.

Not much else went on today. It is hard to believe that it is almost September and fall will be upon us before we know it. This year has gone by so fast. Fall is a beautiful time of the year if you look at it in a positive manner, I have always thought of fall as the season before winter, which I do not enjoy. I doubt that I will ever enjoy winter in Ohio, it is just too cold.

The day started out OK. I decided that I wanted a bath and wanted to go to Walmart. Bathing has become a challenge since I have been on oxygen. When I try to go without the oxygen, I get so out of breath that it scares me. Even a fast shower is difficult. It took me 2 hours to get a bath. I would take the oxygen on and off through out the bath, trying to be careful not to knock the big clumsy tank over-I can't use my oxygen concentrator while bathing since it is electric :)eek:). I was so tired from the bath that the trip to Walmart was put off until another day. All of this is making me very depressed. I am way to young to be struggling with everyday activities and I get embarrassed when I go out with the oxygen tank, people stare and it makes me mad that I have ended up in the condition that I am in. Before I caught pneumonia, I was thinking about getting a different job to try and make more money. The house I live in with my Mother is old and it needs some work done on it and we aren't talking cheap repairs. We need the gutters replaced, a new roof, a new furnace, plumbing repairs and new carpeting and refrigerator and a new dryer....it seems like and endless list. When my Dad got sick and moved out-all the repairs stopped and things are breaking down-nothing lasts forever. Oh well, tomorrow is another day and maybe things will look brighter.

pretty good day

received 200 more ReliOn test strips to continue my testing, have used 10 or more a day. i'm glad to have found these cheaper test strips

all my supplements seem to help everything but my fasting blood sugar, almost like my liver has a ton of it that it needs to get rid of. i have been getting symptoms of "no fuel to burn" even though my BG is 130 to 140 which is fairly normal for me but earlier i had to use 5mg of glyburide to bring down my BG 208mg/dl that had no reason that i knew of for being that high, a liver dump perhaps? i took 500 mg of L-Glutamine for brain energy.

started taking metformin 500mg again.
I am just curious as to why you are testing so much? Are you on insulin or having lows? I tested 10 times today but I am on basal/bolus insulin and had a low this evening, I still have another test that I do at bedtime.

I had a pretty good day. I didn't get to go to Walmart today but I plan on getting there tomorrow. I just love to shop and I have not been going out very much. I cleaned out the refrigerator and freezer today. I have a problem remembering what I buy and things get piled on top of one another and before you know it, the food expires. I did find a little treat in the cupboard, maple brown cinnamon cream of wheat. It has 28 carbs per serving, but it is loaded with calcium. I had 2 scrambled eggs and a serving of the cream of wheat for breakfast. It was good to have something different for breakfast.

What A Day!

Woke up in the middle of the night and I was all sweaty, chilled and coughing up a storm. Took my temperature, it was 101.2 and I had pain where my lungs are and when I would breath, I could hear myself wheezing. I immediately got my rescue inhaler and took 2 puffs and some Tylenol. I got out my oxygen tank out because I was told that it contains 100% oxygen and my concentrator is about 85%. About an hour later, my temp dropped to 99.3 and the wheezing was not so bad. I took some cough syrup to help with the cough and that did nothing. I took the oxygen tank back to my bedroom and set my alarm clock for 7:00AM-4 hours. The oxygen tank lasts for 4 hours. I woke up at 7:00AM and my temp went back up to 100.3. My doctor's office opens at 8:30AM and I was the first call of the day. I was told to be there at 3:00PM and was instructed to get a chest x-ray first. Thank goodness that the care practice that my doctor is associated with has their own imaging & x-ray center and they can get simple x-ray results to my doctor within a 1/2 of an hour. The x-ray tech took 2 x-rays and wanted to redo one and I knew that this was not a good sign. I then went on to my doctor's office where I was greeted by the lab tech who wanted blood tests. When I got in to see my doctor he placed the pulse oximeter on my finger and my room air was down to 88% and my oxygen air was at 92% so my doctor increased my oxygen to 4LPM, which is double what I have been on and he then told me the chest x-ray was still positive for pneumonia and he started writing prescriptions. I have to go back on prednisone for 6 days, Azithromycin for 10 days, and cough syrup with codeine and he told me that he wanted me to get a nebulizer and he would call my medical supply company and get that set up. Since I can't get into the pulmonary specialist until the 20th, my PCP is ordering a chest CT. I am so very concerned about the condition of my lungs and also my immune system. I can't shake this infection and I am not very happy with all of this, but I am going to follow doctor's orders and take my medication and breathing treatments, I don't want to have to go back to the hospital. Thank goodness that I got my groceries yesterday, perhaps I over did it, I had to take my oxygen off to carry in the groceries. My Mother uses a walker and is not able to carry groceries. I am going to have to get some help with getting groceries and bathing, so I am going to have to search the web for a home health agency. My doctor has asked me to make sure that my bedroom is free of dust, so I am going to call a neighbor and see if she can help me achieve this, if not then I will have to get home health to do this for me. I apologize if you are tired of hearing about my ongoing problems with pneumonia, but it feels good to rant about it on here.
