Especially since I had been MIA for a while, but I'm sorry today just sucked...I had an appointment to follow up with the Endocrinologist on the diabetes, figured it would just be routine as my numbers are good. I have good control. No problem. During the exam, he checked my thyroid, and it seemed enlarged. Dr decided best to do an ultrasound, so went back a couple of hours later. Yep, I have a goiter and a suspicious node, needed a biopsy. So 3 hours, 3 needle sticks to the throat and 2 blood draws later, I finally leave the dr's office at about 1:30 (my appointment started at 8am) so best case scenario, I have Hashimotos disease with a goiter and an inflamed node, or a benign tumor, or cancer. Won't know til the first of next week. UGH so now, diabetes, fibromyalgia, and either Hashimotos or cancer....what next???? Sorry vent and pity party over, just needed to get that off my chest. My neck hurts, and I am splurging on a little wine to go with my whine lol.

Never be sorry for venting. We are here for you through the good and the bad. I truly do understand your frustration. My thyroid likes to cause some challenges for me as well, and the biopsies are not fun. One day at a time. You will get through this.

Thanks! I am still processing, and just not ready to share with the world yet. I have never hoped so badly to have a disease before lol. It is the lesser of the evils. I appreciate the support!

Just popped on to update, thanks for checking in on me. Biopsy was clear thank Goodness! Waiting on one more blood test, but looks like Hashimoto's and a goiter it is. Follow up scan in 6 months, or call sooner if a problem. so Whew what a relief

Phew! That is good news.

My husband has Hashi's and was able to significantly reduce the attack on his thyroid by adjusting his diet removing removing things that didn't agree with him. For example, he has pretty bad trouble with gluten, which he figured was okay to eat anyway because he was willing to endure the bathroom trouble it causes to enjoy the foods he liked. After 6 months of doing gluten-free, the nodules on his thyroid were gone and they were able to reduce his thyroid medication.

This won't work for everyone and isn't a cure, just sharing what has worked well in our house.

I'm gluten free just by nature of the keto diet for the diabetes, I have also been pursuing removing unhealthy chemicals from our lives. That plus some holistic essential oils and I am seeing some improvement
