My husband, Parkland just found out he has diabetes...Type 2, I think.
He is 50 years old and his mom was diagnosed at 72 with diabetes. We went to the drug store today and got the meter and strips and all that jazz. I did it first, just out of curiosity, and it read 104. Then Parkland did it and it read 485. He's going to the doctor tomorrow, but I'm worried he's not going to make it til then! LOL How high is TOO high?

Parkland's is high. The doctor will determine his treatment medicine-wise, but he will need to make changes in his diet and start some moderate walking, if he doesn't already.
