Through testing I found a few foods that spike me at the 1 hr mark but come back down to less then 120 at the 2 hr

is this good?

according to the instructions that came with my reli on meter

it said you should be under 100 fasting which I always am

and under 120 2 hrs after eating which for the most part I am

there are just a few things that send me over the 140 point

at the 1 hr but Im always back under 120 at 2 hr

I have to go for my next set of #s in 2 months and Im already

freaking out!!!

thanks for any advice

take care

There is mounting evidence that any and every time your BG goes over 140 you are doing damage to your body.

Great readings those Penney - just keep working at reducing the readings that go over 140 - i.e. eat less of the food in question or replace it with another food that doesn't take you high.

Personally, I like to be around 100 at the two hour mark.

Yes - it is good. In fact, it's brilliant at this stage!

Keep that up and your numbers in two months time will be just superb. Your doctor won't be able to believe them - it'll be your doctor who will be freaked out!

Good luck and best wishes - John

thanks for the words of encouragement wally

I need that more then you'll know

This has been a long hard year for me trying to get the #s down

the one that has been going good has been the BP even though

that one Im on meds for I got it down to mid 110s over low 70s

but this month I only had 3 good days the rest have been high 120s to 140s over 70s

I know Im freaking out about the next set of #s but Ive always done

that (this is my 6th set of #s in 18 months--its really gotten to me)

so now I dont know what the dr is going to do about that

one more thing to stress over--which I know stress causes BP to go

up--but its the higher BP thats causing me to stress out

I am so tired of playing the #S game!!

thanks again

Believe me Penney you are playing the #s game just fine!

Even the blood pressure numbers look good to me.

Try to relax more about things - you'll do just fine!

I always wondered where this mounting evidence was at. Everyone talks about but that doesn't make it so nor does it make it real.

Thanks Shanny for all the information. I am still waiting for some one to do a study on what the effects of severly low glucose levels are and what damage they cause. I for one am convienced that they do cause nerve damage too as well as brain damage.

From what I know, low blood sugar is worse. It can lead to strokes and in extreme cases unconsciousness.
