I am contemplating taking an IT consultant job.

Travel would be Monday morning, stay the week, come back Thursday afternoon.

I take: Lantus (Needles), Metformin and some Cholesterol & HBP meds.

Anyone do this ?

How bad is it to get thru Airport Security ?

I assume you take it on the plane with you ?

Any guidance / advice would be appreciated.

I don't use insulin, but I've found if I carry my meds in a clear zip pouch in my carry on and just label it 'meds' and they've never done more than look at it...never have had it even opened. No problem at all...

Take the job and congrats!

You won't have any problem. Keep a script with you just in case, but I'd be shocked if you ever have to use it. They see a zillion insulin-dependent diabetics every day. Supplies are allowed on flights.

I'm not on insulin, but take loads of meds with me and have never been asked a question, and yeah always in my carry-on.

Problems may be coming. Take a look at this story, particularly the last paragraph.

Check on the TSA website. I don't think you will have any problem at the airport. Some of the problems tend to be with D's wearing insulin pumps and sometimes they have to go through a pat down. Definitely take the job , you will do fine.
