I'm interested in hearing of your experiences from anyone who has had kidney stones, especially those using LCHF/Keto eating plans.
2 weeks ago I became very I'll and in excruciating pain. Several possibilities ran through my mind (pancreatitis, etc) but kidney stones was not one of them. I had never had blood or crystals in my urine or anything else suspicious. So my diagnosis in the ER came as quite a shock, that I had a kidney stone blocking my left ureter.
After the procedure to remove the stone and place a stent a woman from the urology department came to my room. She said most often kidney stones are associated with dehydration. Then she went into quite a rant about keto diets and too much protein and how dangerous it is and all that. So what is your experience? What have your doctors had to say about it? Is there legitimate research about this that anyone is aware of? Or is it residual anti-Atkins prejudice extended to anything similar?

I wrote this first and then it disappeared. I couldn't find it so I wrote another post. I'm still interested in anything any of you have to say. And of course I'm researching.
