Light rain, 5°C, and winds gusting at 20 km/h. The lamps we lit outside on our front patio did not last even a few seconds. So we brought them indoors. Here is a picture of the dozen lamps lit for the "array of lamps" (deepa = lamp; avali = row, array; deepavali = diwali = row of lamps) for the Festival of Lights. We put them out before the smoke alarm had a chance to work .

Regards,
Rad

Rad, do you use ghee (or butter) in yours? Such a beautiful festival!

Happy Diwali!
Traditionally ghee is used. But nowadays we use other less expensive oils (like Canola) and reserve ghee for food items.

Rad
