Can someone explain to me what low insulin would mean. My dr tested my adrenals via saliva test and my insulin came back "depressed" low. Can anyone tell me what this might mean. My non fasting insulin came back as depressed, and my fasting insulin, is low but not to low.

Thanks,
liz

Liz and Richard:

I've seen the same information as well. Specifically that when the insulin levels of people at the 100 year mark are tested, no matter what their 'lifestyle' is, their insulin levels are very low.

Seems like you are on the good side of things Liz. The last time my insulin was measured, which was quite some time ago, it was seen as quite high.

You know an interesting study I read once was that with lab rats those that ingested less carbohydrate over the course of their life time lived longer then those who ate more carbs. This to me seems like it might be related to to the low insulin.
