Hi. I am new here. I am testing my levels at the suggestion of my Dr. My fasting is 95. 1 hour post breakfast it is 135-160. At 2 hours it is 95-103. Tonight after dinner it was 115 at 1 hour but 155 (i tested 3x) at 2 hours. This worries me. All the other reading for the past 6 days have been lower at 2 hours vs 1 hr. Thoughts?

Welcome to the board, 1003hjf! Always happy to see new faces. :)

Your after-meal (post-prandial) glucose levels depend on what you ate . . . there are a few foods that are notorious for causing a delayed reaction like that - pizza being one of the frontrunners. And not just a delayed reaction, but sometimes a prolonged reaction too, meaning it takes longer to drop back to normal too. What did you have for dinner tonight?

Has your doctor firmly diagnosed you, or is he just having you monitor for now? Hope you'll settle in here & we can get better acquainted.
Thank you so much for the replies. I had a chicken breast, 1 and 1/2 cups of pasta and 2 pieces of yellow cake with cool whip. The night before I had the same dinner w/out the cake and my reading was 112 at 2 hours. I took the test again at 3hours and it still was 155 at 4 hours it was finally down to 109. I also had cranberry juice to drink on both nights. My doc has not made a diagnosis yet I have to submit my 1 week readings tomorrow. Looks like the cake is the culprit what do you think?
Yep! :D Lotsa cake there & lotsa pasta too . . . both of those would send my levels into orbit! ;) And the cool whip prob'ly accounts for the fats Yannah mentioned which cause the delay & prolong the spike, not to mention there's sugar in the cool whip too. Yep - that'll do it! :eek2:
