my dad-fingers peeling, blistered, and losing fingernails

my dad has had diabetes for a litle over 10 years now and he seems to get worse. at first he was just on the pills but 5 years ago his doctor told him if he could eat right then he wouldn't need them. i was unaware of this. he is now required to take the shots since he was rushed to the hospital months ago with ketoacidosis. there have been more complications than ever in the recent year. he was admitted to the hospital earlier this year with diabetic ketoacidosis, 2 months ago he was driving and became confused and didn't know where he was. his car was in an accident with a pole and he didn't even remember it. he ended up in a neighborhood in another city. we had to call 911 to have them find him from his cell phone. recently i noticed that his finger looks like they are blistered. he says he burned himself while cooking but i know that's not true. he wouldn't burn all of his fingers and the entire finger. they are peeling and are really red. the other day i noticed that he is losing his fingernails. i have tried to research this and can't find anything. can you please help?? thank you

Just want to suggest Manuka Honey topically maybe using latex gloves. It should help with most conditions that are causing the redness. It helps repair skin conditions and will eliminate any bacteria present.
Why isn't Manuka Honey a widely advertised product if it will cure all those things?

I never thought I would be writing a message to an Irish snake. Lol!

I had never heard of Manuka honey before and so I researched it on Google. On the different threads today you have said this product can cure skin ulcers, reddness on the skin and even cataracts. Google agrees with your every claim. My question to you is: Why isn't this a widely advertised product if it will cure all those things? I am just curious about that. Has it helped you and your family and friends? Are you selling the product online anywhere? I am a moderator so I am concerned about this.

The Irish Snake part came to me as I needed a name no one had and there are no snakes in Ireland. As to Manuka Honey that was a mystery to me also. After a trip to New Zealand and returning with a few jars of expensive honey It did help with a few things. My nephew was in an accident and ended up with a bad infected knee. Thet had surgury on his knee to remove dead tissue. When I heard this I sent him the honey and had him put it on his knee. within a week the infection was gone along with the bad odor, the the skin began closing the wound. It has helped with ear aches that I have had, and sore throats. I believe the reason you have not heard of it is because it works. Let me explain, Manuka honey is just a natural honey and you can not patient it, so no one company can make a lot of money being the only one to sell it. It cost $57,000 a year fee to the FDA to list a drug, plus trials and about 6 to 8 years of waiting for approvals. not much incentive for a drug that starts out generic, and it will replace a lot of drugs that they have patents on that don't work. Cough medicine for one, test have shown that Manuka Honey is better for you than otc medicine for coughs. And it's honey no one believes that you can really cure anything with a food. Manuka honey is a special honey that heals better than a lot of the medicines that they sell today and that is why I have started selling it. I have never wanted to sell anything, I am an architect during the daytime. The US is slowly waking up to this natural healing product.

fungal and Manuka Honey

Yes, the antibacterial qualities of honey bear further exploration for certain -- there are even some pubmed articles on it!

I would also suggest this might be a fungal infectio nform high blood sugar. I have had fungal crud on fingers and toes -- and they seem to be DIFFERENT infections -- for a long time. Definitely needs to see and Endo.
Manuka honey has had some success clearing up fungal problems too.
