...because of a spot she found on her back. The primary care doctor thought it might be a malignant tumor so he sent her to a specialist who immediately diagnosed it as malignant. They removed the mole and have sent it to a lab in Dallas to do testing. She should have an answer back in the next two weeks. Depending on how deep the cancer goes in the mole will determine the next course of treatment. One option, if it is not too deep, is that it hasn't spread too far and they can just monitor it. If it is too deep she will have to do 1 year of chemotherapy.
