...because of a spot she found on her back. The primary care doctor thought it might be a malignant tumor so he sent her to a specialist who immediately diagnosed it as malignant. They removed the mole and have sent it to a lab in Dallas to do testing. She should have an answer back in the next two weeks. Depending on how deep the cancer goes in the mole will determine the next course of treatment. One option, if it is not too deep, is that it hasn't spread too far and they can just monitor it. If it is too deep she will have to do 1 year of chemotherapy.
Just thought I would let my online family know about this as I know you guys care about me so much. Thanks in advance for your thoughts and prayers.

Many prayers & positive thoughts, Josh, for you & your mom. The waiting is the worst part. Usually they take quite a chunk of surrounding tissue, just to make sure it's all gone. Do keep us posted & thank you for trusting us with this. :)hug: and pass it on to your mom!)

She said she had a pretty good hole in her back. They will be getting test results back in the next two weeks. It all depends on how deep the cancer goes into the skin and mole they removed.

She is a wonderful woman. She takes care of her parents, driving an hour both ways to visit them 4-6 times a week, has a full-time job at the hospital, works at my dad's company helping him and takes care of us kids. Sometimes you wonder why it happens to some people but we have to remember we aren't in control. ;)

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. They mean a lot.
