So, I was first diagnosed with an A1C of 6.4 and a fasting glucose of 147. Now 4 months later, after losing 21 lbs , watching diet, and exercising I went for new tests. My meter average was running about a 107 so I was expecting a number in the 5.8 range, hoping for a little lower, maybe 5.4.

So the doc gave me the results:

Glucose: 99
A1C: 5.1

!!!

No urine protein, kidney tests all normal, Vit D absorbtion in the normal range. Cutting Vit D and blood pressure meds in half.
She didn't hassle me about the diet or testing, just said to see her in mid-September.

All good. Now I have gum surgery to look forward to plus a cardio consult for a stress test and echo but I'll take it for now.

That is fantastic. I'm hoping I can get mine down in that range, soon.
