I can agree . . . stress plays havoc with our sugars. Besides learning to manage our diets & meds, we have to learn to relax & let things roll off our backs. Not so easy as it sounds!

What you might do is get a meter & do some testing on your own . . . get a fasting reading before you eat anything in the mornings & then take a few tests after meals. Keep a log of what you eat & what your readings are, and then you'll have a better picture of what's going on. Plus you can show your doc what's going on!
