Hi all,
The day before my birthday [13th July] I developed Bells palsy on the way home. Various tests showed I have diabetes [HbA1c of 8.6%], high cholesterol, triglyceride and blood pressure. Oh! I forgot to mention sleep apnoea. I am a complete mess.
I am a surgeon in UK. I like trekking, gym, swimming, reading books in my spare time.:D

Welcome Nagesh . . . diabetes is just a messy ailment, so join the club - all of us get messed up sometimes! Thank you for joining us!

We also find that getting our BG under control has a positive effect on some of the other ailments!
Hi, I am a complete mess, too! Nice to meet you!

Thanks a lot. Now that we 'messed up' people have got together, I hope we can unmess ourselves as it were. :)

I am rapidly getting off the high dose steroids, which has upset my BG. The steroids were for the Bells palsy, which is slowly getting better.

Being new to all this, I thought of monitoring my BG - fasting, immediately after breakfast, 2 hrs post lunch, before and after exercise and then before bed time. Then once I have done this over a week, I will be able to adjust my Metformin suitably. Of-course I will have to wait until am off these steroids.

Meanwhile, I am learning so much. Like effect of Cinnamon, lime juice etc etc.

Hi Nagesh - what a lot to deal with. Glad you're here. If nothing else, we can offer moral support. Or be a Greek chorus if need be!

Best,
Jen
