Hi my name is Teri
I am 62 had diabetes for 2 years now . My Father also has type 2 . I have always ate right been health. I guess it must be in the genes. I was born in england and moved to Canada as a young child . Iam a mother of 3 and grand mother to 5 children .I am going to study this site and get back to everyone soon

Hello Teri, I guess you would know about Carbohydrates and counting them.

Hi Richard Yes I do take diabetic drugs

Welcome to our/your Diabetes Community. Yes indeed, researchers finally discovered that most Type 2's are predisposed to Diabetes through their genes. It usually is either triggered by something or for People who get it later, the Diabetes was just delayed by a healthy Lifestyle.

Congrats on WOW 5 GrandKids.

They must keep you hopping when they are around. Welcome!!
