I recieved my new meter today I got the one touch ultra mini I used it and then rechecked on my old meter accu chek compact plus and my number was 10 points higher on the new meter is this normal? or should i be concerned?

Meters are all different, they are acutally allowed to be 20% off and still considered accurate. Even if you tested the same drop of blood with 2 different strips on the same meter you might get different numbers. This is why we test only once on one meter unless we get a very high or very low bg. I have had meters give me false lows or highs because I had a substance on my fingers that messed with the testing.

Well, stick with one meter and only test on that meter unless you get a really odd number. Meters can be off by 20%, so a 125 on one and a 149 on another would constitute a 20% difference between them. Don't make yourself crazy with the meters. I keep one in my purse (one touch ultra mini) and use that one at work and when I'm out and about, and I have a regular one touch ultra at home that I use whenever I'm home. I do not test on both meters to see if the readings are the same. That will just drive you up a wall. Oh, and by the way, I would choose the number that was lower ;) But, that's just me
