Hello, about a month ago I was diagnosed as type 2, apperently I developed a high tollerance and felt fine with at test readings of 600-650 when i was immediately taken to the hospital. Real fun as my dad just got a meter and was trying it out as being prediabetic so they tested me and tried over an hour and kept getting high marks. The ER staff was amazed i felt nothing, no shaking hands, weakness, etc.. I think one of them said i should have been in a coma from that level but anyways.. (When they flushed my system and got me down to 300 I felt so weak for about a week :) )

I've been watching my carbs and quantities and servings of everything and i'm down below 200's now.

I'm checking twice a day when i get up and when i eat dinner/supper. My evening is always lower than my morning and about now it's getting down to 120-130 range, but my morning is always near 200? And yesterday I made absolute sure I was taking in less than what my nutrionist said i could eat (carb wise), instead of 60G per meal it was 30 or less grams total. So I got down to 120ish. I then ate nothing out of the ordinary and not much of anything with any carbs just a little 20-30g max of the 60 allowed and then a small snack still under my limit for that one. When I wake up it's back to 200?

The only thing I can deduce as I watched everything i ate, especially as the doctor said i was eating way too many carbs before sleep and that was the reason, that it must be my body converting fat to sugar while i sleep? Did my body develope such a tollerance to that high level that it is trying to get me back up while I sleep?

I'm still tired a lot as not being used to the new sugar levels and taking currently 15 units of insulin at breakfast and dinner. (Measurements taken before meals)

Just trying to understand is all..

I'm 30.

My reading for I think it's called AC1 was a 12.0 i believe, but yes they think i'm type 1. I'm on a hard diet and exercise regiment. I was 290 before this all started and have been exercising a lot before this happened and currently about 230 for the past 6 months. The doctors still want me to lose more weight.

I know you said morning number are demons? Do you mean it is normal or abnormal to see a large spike even with strict diet for the morning?

I am on the metaformin once a day at 1,000 i think it says mg.. idk it's a tablet. I take a multivitamin with it, some fish oil and a tablet of that curry powder, can't think of it's name at the moment, well not curry powder but the thing in it.. idk it's supposed to help the immune system anyways. I'm on all 4 of those at the moment though. I've been walking for a while so it helps. I just wish the gym i go to was open 24/7.. I work 2nd shift and don't want to get up 3hrs early to go to the gym but would love to go after work if i could. I was told I had to do aerobics 5 days a week for 30min and the other two were strength training to try and combat my problem. If i had sidewalks near me i'd go walking at night but out in the country.

I don't think the doctors wanted to test me because I don't have insurance at the moment (yeah that just makes it worse i know). I know the hospital took lots of vials of blood in the 4-5hrs i was there so maybe they tested me because they told me i was type 2 so I just believe them. Although they wrote on the paperwork 500mg but I ended up with a rx for 1,000? I can't recall if they asked for my weight at the end so probably increased it due to that.

I'm 6ft 5in so 230lbs isn't terrible but could still lose another 10.. i don't think i'll get under 200lbs because i'll be a twig again.

On the exercise note, i do have a couple exercise games for the ps3 so that helps when i can't go outside to walk.

The diabetes thing does help answer why I always was sleeping for 12-14hrs especially on weekends. I didn't feel well after just 8hrs, so maybe since my blood sugar is spiking when i sleep my body was "low" (probably 450 compared to 600) and it kept me asleep till i was back near 600 idk.
