Hello!

I am a Type 2 who was diagnosed in November 2008. My life has not been the same since then, as you can imagine.

I am still trying to grasp the concept, learn, apply, and get healthy.

I am trying to go low carb (I love carbs!:()

I am exercising for the first time in my life and I am 48-starting off with walking but doing it consistently. I do not like to sweat, but that is probably what contributed to this condition in the first place.

I am looking forward to learning a lot here and making friends who understand completely.:)

I understand! I am type 2 diagnosed in March 2007. I don't like exercising, either, but you are doing better than I am as I have to really, really motivate myself and I'm not very good at that. :( Were you able to attend any diabetes education classes or visit with a registered dietician? Those all help as you already know if you arm yourself with lots of knowledge you can take better care of yourself. Good luck and I'm glad you decided to join us.

Welcome to our community! I exercise every day but it is hard to get myself started some days. I have lowered my carb intake to 130g per day. The low carb diet and exercise has enabled me to lose 26 pounds. I hope you will find a routine that works well for you, soon. Good luck!
