Well that question would be easier to answer if you told us what your diet consists of now. What type of diabetic are you? Are you taking any medication at all? Are you getting regular exercise?

Hi and welcome! Everyone on this site is very helpful and you will gain a wealth of knowledge here!
I don't have health insurance either. It's very very hard and challenging taking care of yourself and your diabetes without it. I saw you say you are trying to cut out orange juice. Tropicana makes one called 50 I think. It's half the sugar and calories. If you like orange flavor, they have those sugar free packets by Wylers you add to water.
I also use a one touch ultra. I get my strips
On eBay. You can usually find them for half price. Around 50 strips for $25. If you're on insulin, walmart has humulin (what I take) for $24 versus Walgreens for $70. Also I work out payment plans with my diabetic doctor and he understands my situation. Ask for samples!!! Samples, samples, samples! Ask! Tell your doc your without insurance and they cam work with you. They can be very empathetic.
Hope this helped a bit!
