I just read on Jenny Ruhl's blog (author of Blood Sugar 101) that normal/target blood sugar values while pregnant are actually LOWER than when not pregnant.

Another interesting tidbit is that she believes that is is better to use insulin than to stay in ketosis during pregnancy. The thought being that ketosis may permanently and adversely affect the fetus's metabolism. I'm not so sure I understand why or really believe that...
Either way I like seeing research focusing on understanding good target BG values as opposed to encouraging diabetics to settle for values that can cause complications.
