Today I found that not only do I have hypothyroid and Hashimoto, but I also have hyperthyroid and Graves.
To make it even more complicated, my endo think that I`ve become insulinresistant as well.
But when I got my bloodwork back, I realised why I lately has felt like something the cat drag into the house.
I still dont know how to treat those combinations, my endo will discuss it with his partners before he will tell me something in Monday afternoon.

Not to fear ... yet!

I have had Hashi's for 18 years. It is simple to manage, and replacement (do you NEED replacement, at this point, with mixed antibodies?).

The Insulin Resistance can be caused by the thyroid, too. So it may subside as you are treated for thyroid disease.

Good luck!

I've also had hypothyroid disease for almost 50 years. My condition is treated by taking a small pill once a day. My Doctor tests my blood several times a year to make sure my thyroid levels are within normal range.

Try not to worry too much. You will be alright.

My hypothyroid hasnt been easy to treat. My body thinks the pill (Levaxin) is poison, so I`ve been forced to take to little drug to not have all the overdoze symptoms.
My thyroid has given me a load of extra problems, and during the 3 years I`ve had it, my bloodwork never has been near to be ok.

I`m not sure how they will treat it since I have both antibodies. The endo will give me a call monday to tell what to do.

I`m just a little frustrated today; sorry.

Okay, so basically, you have had Hashi's for a long time, now you ALSO have Graves ... Oh, man, that must make for some "storms?" You have my deepest sympathy!

Could be surgical cure ... ? It is not bad from what I hear, recovering from that.

Not sure it will help, but certainly it is not unheard of.

Sometimes it just gets to be too much & even our sunny spirits dim a little. You have so many things to cope with & I hope you know we keep you in our thoughts from day to day.

Maybe there's a way you can pamper yourself for a coupla days until the way becomes clear again. You've given us so much - imagine us spoiling you long distance now . . . how about I brew you a steaming cuppa spice tea & bring you a bowl of your tasty chicken soup? ((((Optimist))))

Isn't Shanny great? This whole place is great! I have been grumpy lately too. I have too many medical problems and I am only 37. I will be happy to live to 50 at this point. Hang in there! I am feeling better everyday.

It warms to get your support! Thanks to all of you!
My oldest son actually rushed into the kitchen and made a pot with my favourit tea right after the endo called me. I think he saw that I was a bit chocked.
So today I`m enjoying a green tea called green grasshopper. It has a bit mango, and is really good. Wish you all were here to taste it!
My BG was too high earlier (10,8), but after the endo called it dropped right down to 4,1, and there it has been for the last hours. So something good came out of that phone:)

I'm glad your son made you tea. You would definitely be 'smiling' if you had a "grasshopper" drink in the USA because it is an alcoholic drink made with licquor and ice cream :) :)

Diabetes is hard enough to manage and then add other physical problems on top of that? Sorry you are having it a bit rough now. Will be thinking of you come Monday and hope your Doctor and his partners will come up with something very helpful to you. Stay strong my friend.
