All,

Let me introduce myself to this forum, I am Ganesh Kumar from India of age 29 & i've been diagnosed as diabetic type 2 3 months ago and this news was shocking to me as i got it so early. Also I've heard that people of even younger age have this, anywyz digesting the fact i'm ready to combat with this disease. But sometimes i'm so worried :mad coz a few weeks before i had the tingling on my both feet ...then had a treatment & now i have the burning sensation which is like hell and i work in a s/w industry where i've to remain seated at my desk for a long time. I am wondering if there is any effective medicine which can cure this off as its more disturbing & i couldnt concentrate on anything....Also i can't wear shoes 4 a long time as the burning effect increases...can some one help me please ....

It seems like you are developing a diabetes complication called neuropathy. That and other complications are caused by diabetes if your blood sugar runs high for a long time. You need to see a good doctor that knows a lot about diabetes and get a proper diagnosis. The treatment prescribed may be a medication or insulin, either of which should give you much lower blood sugar. That should eventually help the burning and tingling. It will hopefully completely eliminate those problems.

In the meantime you should follow a very low carbohydrate diet and get exercise every day.

Permanent cure to Neuropathy

Richard,

Well Thanks a lot for your reply! actually i'm already following a low carbohydrate diet by not consuming rice much and also walking for about 30 -40 minutes/day and last staurday i chked my fasting blood sugar and its 109 which is quite under control but the worst part is still the burning sensation is there, earlier i took a medicine named NERVZ-B for the tingling and it relieved for few days but again i got this burning sensation. Did you have such complications if yes how did you get this rid off permanently as this is really frustrating for me to work in office. If there is any medicines available in US please let me know, I'll ask my friends to order one for me. Most of the diabeticians suggests some vitamin - B tablets to get some relief but this is just a temporary... but i am looking out for a permanent cure ...how about trying something in homeopathy....Awaiting for your suggestion.

Thanks,
Ganesh

In th USA diabetics with this burning problem would go to a neurologist (nerve specialist) and be tested. The test here is called an EMG. The reason I suggest this is that there are other things that can cause burning feet besides neuropathy. A neurologist is the best person to diagnose and prescribe good medication. If you do have neuropathy then the best thing you csn do is get very good control of your blood sugar. When I stopped having a lot of high blood sugar my neuropathy stopped.
