among the forums I frequent, I currently see THREE highly-unconventional diets -- neither LC nor ADA -- people are trying.
One is the alkaline diet: Raw vegan (but apparently with a red meat add-back?) This one swears by it to control BG.
One is the very low calorie diet: 600 kcal a day including a shake. NOT working, running in the 200 - 300 range.
One is low-carb / low cal, plus Whiskey. He is losing weight, not sure of blood sugar levels, but ay, yi!
Just shows you the extremes to which people are willing to go!
