I think it's a good idea to mention this to kids. You can have fun in the spring, summer, fall and winter, and life is like that too. The things you enjoy change, but the ability to enjoy is one of the few things that doesn't seem to get old.

I'm getting a bit older but am really busy and enjoying life more than ever, almost. The one exception was a 3 year period working on a volunteer project that was really beautiful. Hope to get back to something like that soon.

I saw some senior personal ads that I can relate to.

FOXY LADY: Sexy, fashion-conscious blue-haired beauty,
80's, slim, 5'4'' (used to be 5'6''), searching for sharp-looking,
sharp-dressing companion. Matching white shoes and belt
a plus.

LONG-TERM COMMITMENT: Recent widow who has just
buried fourth husband, and am looking for someone to round
out a six-unit plot. Dizziness, fainting, shortness of breath
not a problem.

SERENITY NOW: I am into solitude, long walks, sunrises,
the ocean, yoga and meditation. If you are the silent type,
let's get together, take our hearing aids out and enjoy quiet
times.

WINNING SMILE: Active grandmother with original teeth
seeking a dedicated flosser to share rare steaks, corn on
the cob and caramel candy.

BEATLES OR STONES? I still like to rock, still like to cruise
in my Camaro on Saturday nights and still like to play the guitar.
If you were a groovy chick, or are now a groovy hen, let's get
together and listen to my eight-track tapes.

MEMORIES: I can usually remember Monday through Thursday.
If you can remember Friday, Saturday and Sunday, let's put our
two heads together.

MINT CONDITION: Male, 1932, high mileage, good condition,
some hair, many new parts including hip, knee, cornea, valves.
Isn't in running condition, but walks well.

Just a nice example of people not taking themselves too seriously, and still having fun.

I have one situation where I have to verify my birth date frequently. Lately I've been giving it as "20 April '46, but I can't remember it it was 1846 or 1946." (That's a completely fictional date, just for this post. Any birthday emails around that time just get slammed in the can.)

Thank you for the comments. This communication stuff is neat :)

Most of the posts even here in the off topic have been about diabetes too, so I was starting to wonder if anyone wanted to talk about anything else.

On one large forum I went by yesterday there was some complaining happening. One of the women suggested 'why don't we open up a Bitch Forum and just move this topic there?' Enjoyed that forum idea :)

Was It In General.. or Personal?

Lia said in part..

One of the women suggested 'why don't we open up a Bitch Forum and just move this topic there?'
Now THAT got me wondering if she was talking about the subject in "general" terms.. or if she was thinking about herself in the "personal" way..!!..? ;) You never can tell.. you know. :D
